“Favorite memories—being there at the birth of my son is probably the biggest one I will ever experience. Greatest gift in life—and my relationship with my God.

I was just looking at a picture on Facebook of my old childhood home, and that was bringing back some memories of when I was growing up, way out in the country, here in North Carolina.

Things are so fast now. There’s so much more stuff available. Back in those days, you had three channels on TV and that was it. At times, I miss the simplicity. But I’m still glad that I have all this stuff available to me today, too.

I miss how everything was so easygoing, didn’t have any responsibilities. Just the life of a child, you know? All that changes when you become a grownup.

Cultural changes? Absolutely. Things that weren’t allowed or frowned upon are now openly accepted, and things have changed so much. I remember seeing KKK people—younger than you, real small!—things have definitely changed, and for the better. The ‘good old days’ were good, but I’m glad I’m they’re over with, too.

A major event in my life was when I became a Christian, in 1997. I was invited to a church by some friends of mine, went a few times, and…became saved!”
